The Schwärzeseelauf is a local running event in Eberswalde, Brandenburg, with starts on Schönholzer Straße opposite the Waldsportanlage. It is usually held in late autumn, with past editions falling in October or November, and it offers several race lengths rather than one headline distance: about 12 km, 8 km, 4 km, and 2 km, plus children’s races over 1 km and 2.3 km. Nordic walkers get their own 8.8 km option, but that part is kept non-competitive, with no age classes or ranking list.
The course is listed as flat, which makes the event approachable for newer runners while still giving club runners a clean effort over the longer distances. SV Stahl Finow’s canoe department organizes the race, and the Schwärzeseelauf also counts toward the Barnimer Sparkassen Lauf-Cup, so it draws people from the regional running scene as well as families coming for the shorter children’s events. Electronic timing is used, and start lists, rankings, results, photos, and reports are published afterward, giving the race the feel of a small but properly run community fixture.
