The Spiridon Silvesterlauf Frankfurt is a running event held around New Year's Eve in Frankfurt am Main. It takes place in the Frankfurter Stadtwald, organized by Spiridon Frankfurt. The main race is a precisely measured, flat 10 km road race starting and finishing at the Wintersporthalle near Deutsche Bank Park. The event also includes races for younger participants: a 2 km for ages U8 to U12, a 4 km for U14 to U16, and a Bambini run for the youngest children. This event has been held annually since 1979, making it one of Europe's longest-running New Year's Eve races.
The flat 10 km course suits both fast runners and those seeking a final race of the year. The course records are 29:42 for men and 33:04 for women. It is also part of the Rosbacher Main-Lauf-Cup, attracting club runners and series participants alongside casual runners and families. Recent editions have seen large numbers, with a record 3,471 registrations across all events. The children's races have experienced significant growth: school races increased by over 10% compared to their previous finisher record, and the Bambini run more than tripled its finishers in its second year.
