Steiger(Honig)lauf

The Steiger(Honig)lauf is an established autumn road race in Erfurt, Germany. It starts and finishes at Am Reitplatz, near the Steigerwald forest. LTV Erfurt organizes the event, which has taken place annually since 1979. It is a local event, typically attracting a few hundred participants rather than a large city-race crowd. The primary distance is 13 km with approximately 150 m of elevation gain. Shorter races are available over 8 km, 4 km, 2 km, and 1 km. The event features a main run, school races, and a Bambini run, with awards presented according to German athletics age-group standards. Participants receive complimentary refreshments at the finish. The race maintains a traditional organization: entry fees are collected at bib pickup, and late registrations are accepted shortly before the start. Parking is restricted near Waldkasino, with additional space available at Thüringenhalle, about 400 m away.
