Stiftungslauf Salzgitter is a community running event held at Salzgittersee in Lebenstedt, Salzgitter, Lower Saxony. The start is located by the DLRG building. The programme features short, accessible distances: main runs of approximately 10.8 km and 5.4 km, a 5.4 km walking option, a 1.2 km children’s race for participants up to age 13, and a 4 x 1.2 km relay.
The course is set up to keep the race near the lake area, rather than extending across a long city route. Bürgerstiftung Salzgitter organizes the event, which is part of the Landessparkassen Stiftungslauf series. First held in 2007, it functions as a local participation day rather than a specialist road race. Runners, walkers, children, and relay teams can all participate in the same event, with results, start lists, participant lists, and photos published afterward.
