The SVE-Steinwiesenlauf is a Sunday morning running event centered at SVE’s stadium, offering races for very young children, school-age runners, and adults. The youngest runners begin: the Bambini run one full lap of the stadium with family support, and each child receives a medal and a visit from the SVE mascot. The event, now in its fifth edition, already sells out; entries increased from just over 200 runners to 350 participants.
The student race covers 2.9 km and crosses the autobahn bridge twice, providing a distinct landmark for the children’s course beyond the stadium. Seventy-six children completed this race. Paul Kuhlmann of HSV Leichtathletik led the boys in 12:48, and SVE’s Käthe Marit Schmersow won the junior girls’ race in 13:22, finishing third overall. SVE’s girls also secured the junior podium with Josephine Wendt and Ava Bohnet. The 5 km race, the most popular, attracted 84 runners. Philipp Weller of Hamburg Running won the men’s race in 17:34, finishing one second ahead of Tom Wiedemann of ETV.
