Wasserstadt Triathlon Hannover-Limmer 2026

The Wasserstadt Triathlon Hannover-Limmer is a triathlon weekend held in Hannover's Limmer district, Lower Saxony, featuring sprint and full-distance races. The sprint distances are the standard 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run. These are contested by individual athletes, relay teams, age-group competitors, and local league participants from the Verbandsliga and Landesliga. The long-distance race is more demanding: 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling, and a 42 km marathon run, available for individuals and relay teams. The event completed at least fifteen editions in Limmer before organizers cited site capacity limits. Eichels: Event of Hannover, which also organizes the Maschsee Triathlon and ADAC Marathon, assumed control from Trimindous UG. The previous organizer, Peter Augath, expressed satisfaction with the handover to experienced management. The competition attracted diverse participants, with one open sprint race expecting around 400 athletes and smaller fields for the long-distance event. Triathlon magazine recognized it as one of seven triathlon "pearls."
