Aalborg Halvmarathon begins in Kildeparken, leading runners into the city before they cross the Limfjord towards Nørresundby. This is a traditional running event in Aalborg and Nørresundby, offering a half marathon and a quarter marathon, alongside walking options over 21.1 km, 10 km, and 6 km. The event is designed as a community gathering, not solely for competitive runners, with courses near central Aalborg and a diverse participant field that can include runners, walkers, families, colleagues, and friends.
The half marathon route passes through Vesterbro, crosses the Limfjord, visits the new Stigsborg area, and follows Nørresundby’s waterfront. It then continues through Vestby, heads out to Fjordparken, and returns through Aalborg Centrum to the finish line. The quarter marathon remains on the Aalborg side of the fjord, navigating the winding streets of the city center. Aalborg Firmaidræt organizes the race. Finishers are awarded a medal and a goodie bag, with any surplus supporting Aalborg Firmaidræt and local sports clubs that provide volunteers.
