Over stok og sten - Silkeborg 2026

Over stok og sten (Over stock and stone) is an autumn walking event in the Silkeborg area, Denmark. Participants select routes of 20, 30, or 50 km, with a new route for this edition set amidst forests displaying autumn colors. The event is designed for those preferring a long day of walking over a road race, incorporating hills, woodland paths, lakeside sections, and some soft terrain. The longer route connects to a past 100 km Over Stok og Sten tour, utilizing what was the latter half of that longer Copenhagen event. Silkeborg offers more than scenic landscapes; nearby, evidence of human habitation predating the Common Era has been discovered, including the remains of Tollund Man and Grauballe Man. Participants have noted clear route markings, efficient aid stations, and Chili con Carne available on the course. One report also mentioned misty conditions, a boggy section around the 25 km mark, and the benefit of carrying spare socks and shoes.
