Tunø Løbet starts as the ferry arrives at Tunø, a small island without cars accessible by ferry from Hou. It is an 8.5 km run around the island, untimed, with a small number of participants and a relaxed atmosphere rather than a competitive one.
The event begins on the Tunø ferry, offering runners coffee and a snack before disembarking. Their belongings are stored while they run. The course follows the coast, with the sea to the runner’s right, passing old houses, livestock, and open water. After finishing, participants may swim in the sea before a simple meal at the local inn and the ferry trip back.
