Just 150 spots are available for the two routes at BTT Callejas de Torrejoncillo, a non-competitive mountain-bike ride starting in Torrejoncillo, Cáceres province. Held in June as a ruta cicloturista, the focus is on completing the route, not racing for position. Participants can select a long course of 47.5 km with 600 m of elevation gain or a short course of 25 km with 315 m of elevation gain, accommodating both experienced mountain bikers and those seeking a shorter ride.
The course follows local paths and countryside near Dehesa Boyal, Camino de las Cruces, San Pedro, Pantano, Tallisca, Camino de Acehúche, Camino Alto, and Callejas. This event marks its twelfth year, with a recent edition attracting around one hundred participants from Extremadura, Madrid, and Castilla y León. Following the ride, participants are treated to a communal rancho meal and receive a cyclist's bag containing a commemorative gift, a sweet, and cured meat from Torrejoncillo.
