Carrera Bonares Memorial Manolo Márquez 2026

The Carrera Bonares Memorial Manolo Márquez is a free 8 km road race held in Bonares, Huelva province. It begins at 10:00 in the central Plaza de España. The Sports Department of Bonares City Council, with assistance from Club de Atletismo El Lince, organizes this event, also known as the Carrera Popular de Bonares. This is a local race intended for a large field of approximately 800 runners of all ages, not an exclusive competition. The course is an 8,000-meter loop through Bonares streets, starting and finishing at Plaza de España. The Andalusian Athletics Federation has certified the distance. Prior to the main race, school events are held for various age groups, from young children to cadets, covering distances from 100 meters to 2.1 km. Awards are given to the top three men and women in each category, and all participants receive a technical T-shirt. The race honors the Manolo Márquez memorial and has a significant local tradition; the popular race is in its thirtieth edition, and the memorial race is in its fourteenth.
