Carrera de la Guardia Civil 2026

The Carrera de la Guardia Civil is an annual running event in Zamora, Spain, organized by the association Corriendo con el corazon por Hugo. It typically draws close to 3,000 participants, making it a community race with a large local field rather than a small club outing. The race is tied to rare-disease fundraising, with all money raised going to the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases, FEDER. Across ten editions, the Zamora race raised more than 190,000 euros, and the wider group of Guardia Civil races contributed 265,377.02 euros to rare-disease research. From the third edition onward, the fundraising helped create research grants, including the first named the Hugo Vara Research Grant.
