Carrera del Mazapán 2026

Carrera del Mazapán is a short, popular road race in Sonseca, a town in Spain’s Toledo province, held in late December. The current distance is 6 km, with an earlier edition using a 5.5 km course, placing it in the fast, local-race category rather than the long-distance events. The race attracts club runners and local athletes from the Toledo area; one recent edition had 228 finishers. Its name relates directly to Sonseca’s marzipan tradition, giving the event a distinct local character. Past winners have achieved quick times for the distance, with the men’s winner finishing in 16:33 and the women’s winner in 19:58 over the shorter course.
