Carrera Nocturna Palma del Río is an evening road race in Palma del Río, Córdoba, Andalusia, held around May Day. The main race covers 6.6 km on a nearly flat town circuit, starting and finishing on Paseo Alfonso XIII. Club de Atletismo Palma del Río and the local town council organize the event, which is now in its twenty-fifth edition.
The event is designed for local runners and families, not solely adults aiming for a fast 6.6 km. School races cater to various age groups, from the youngest children through cadets, with distances ranging from 200 m to 2.6 km. The first children’s race begins in the early evening, and categories for intellectually disabled athletes are also part of the program. Approximately 400 runners participate, with an entry limit of 600. The top three men and women in each category receive trophies, and all registered runners are given a commemorative technical shirt.
