Carrera Popular Puerto Menesteo is an annual 10 km road race in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, run on a fast urban circuit. Club Atletismo Alcanatif organizes it with the Ayuntamiento de El Puerto de Santa María, and the race starts and finishes at Ciudad Deportiva Rafael Sánchez. It is a popular city race rather than a trail or mountain event, with limited entries and a morning start.
The route is built for quick running through town, so it suits club runners chasing a personal best as well as local runners who want a familiar, community race. The event has reached at least its twenty-ninth edition, which gives it a long place in El Puerto’s running calendar. Runners can bring non-perishable food for Fundación Adra, adding a local charity element to race day. Awards go to overall winners and category finishers, with a special mention for runners from the area.
