Cross de la Costrada takes its name from the costrada, a typical dessert from Aoiz/Agoitz in Navarra, Spain. It is a small summer road race held in the town, typically on an August Friday evening, with the main adult race set at approximately 6 kilometers and preceded by children’s races.
The course follows a three-lap urban circuit through Aoiz/Agoitz, a Navarrese town situated near the Irati River and about 28 kilometers from Pamplona. Fields are modest, with recent editions attracting around 65 to 119 runners. The race is a long-standing fixture on the Navarrese summer calendar. Its timing close to the start of the town fiestas lends it a local festival atmosphere, and the bilingual name, Cross de la Costrada / Kostradaren Lasterketa, signifies the Spanish and Basque identity of the region.
