The Cross San Silvestre Burguillano is a New Year's Eve running event held in Burguillos del Cerro, a town in Badajoz. The races commence in the late afternoon, featuring a street cross format through the town’s streets and squares, rather than a trail race. It is divided into four races, allowing separate competition for children, younger runners, and adult categories.
The series is organized by the Asociación Comisión Organizadora del Cross San Silvestre Burguillano and receives support from Burguillos del Cerro’s town council. Local public bodies, shops, and businesses from the town, surrounding area, and wider province also provide backing. The event is in its thirty-eighth edition, includes category competition and cash prizes, and provides practical race-day amenities like bag drop.
