Cursa Fosca is a night trail race in Torrelles de Foix, a village in Barcelona’s Alt Penedès region. It is a mountain run held in low light, with routes for runners and walkers rather than a flat road race. Recent listings include a 14 km race with about 500 m of climbing, while other editions describe a shorter walking-friendly route and a more technical long course of around 30 km.
The routes use mountain paths around Torrelles de Foix and the upper Foix river, passing through vineyard country in inland Catalonia. Runners deal with uneven ground, harder trail sections, and climbs toward high points such as the Sanctuary of Foix and the La Pineda plain. On clear stretches, the course can open views across the pre-coastal plain, El Garraf, and even the sea. The field is small compared with big city races, with recent results listing 156 finishers, which gives it more of a local trail-race feel than a mass event.
