The Cursa Solidària Gata begins and ends on Carrer Grup Escolar in Gata de Gorgos, Alicante province, Spain. This is a short, 6.5-kilometer morning run and walk. There is no race clock, official timing, or competitive ranking. The Ajuntament de Gata de Gorgos organizes the event, with assistance from Club Atletisme Gata. Participants collect their bibs on the morning of the race.
The course is straightforward: participants may run or walk, making it suitable for locals, casual runners, families, and anyone wishing to support the cause without focusing on time. The entry fee is modest, with a portion of each registration benefiting Visió Sense Fronteres. This NGO combats avoidable blindness, primarily through African campaigns that involve cataract surgeries, eye care, training for local health workers, and aid for those unable to afford treatment. At the finish area, a cloakroom and bike storage are available. The Festers operate a bar service offering affordable breakfasts, contributing to the event's local community atmosphere instead of a formal race-day feel.
