Diada Montserratina is a traditional cycling climb to the Abbey of Montserrat, organized annually by the Catalan Cycling Federation. Riders gather in the morning for a shared ride up to the monastery, with the event drawing more than 2,500 participants from across Catalonia in its latest reported edition.
The ride functions as both a cycling outing and a pilgrimage. On a special monastery millennium edition, participants were allowed to continue unusually far up to Plaça de Santa Maria, where the abbot and prior of Montserrat received them and gave a blessing. Honored cycling clubs and federation representatives also joined the Conventual Mass, including a floral offering to the Virgin of Montserrat.
