La Transenyera is a 15 km mountain-style race in Castellbell i el Vilar, held on September 11, Catalonia’s National Day. The route includes 800 m of climbing, making it a short race on paper but a demanding one underfoot. It is organized by the Castellbell i el Vilar City Council and the Associació Cultural i Esportiva Les Guineus, and it also includes a walking option for those who want the same local outing at a slower pace.
The course uses the area around Burés, La Bauma, and other parts of the municipality, with enough elevation change to make pace control and proper shoes matter. The walking version follows the same base route when offered, but the focus shifts from racing to taking in the local landscape and heritage. It suits hikers comfortable with climbs, while the race draws runners looking for a compact but tough effort. The day also carries a local festival feel through its link with Les Guineus.
