Larreak Bizirik is a short night race held in Olaz-Subiza, within the Cendea de Galar on Pamplona's outskirts. The adult race, commencing at 18:30, covers approximately 6 to 6.5 kilometers with around 180 meters of elevation gain. This makes it a brisk local mountain cross-country event rather than an extended trail run. Entry numbers are capped, and bibs often sell out rapidly; in one instance, 139 participants completed the course from 150 available slots.
The course winds through paths and dirt roads surrounding the village, featuring sufficient ascents and descents to be considered demanding on the legs. The organizing team behind Galar Trail is also responsible for this event. Local residents from Olaz-Subiza and the broader Cendea de Galar contribute to the evening's character through traditional attire, mythological figures, and a community-driven atmosphere. A free, non-competitive Cross Txiki for children precedes the adult race, concluding with hot chocolate for the young participants. The event's inaugural run occurred before the coronavirus pandemic, with a subsequent return after a necessary hiatus.
