The Playas de San Javier is an open-water swimming race in the Region of Murcia, taking place in the Mediterranean Sea at La Manga del Mar Menor. Participants can select between 2,000 meters and 4,000 meters, accommodating both individuals new to sea racing and experienced swimmers seeking a greater challenge. The event is organized by the Sports Department of San Javier City Council, with assistance from the regional swimming federation and Club Natación San Javier Mar Menor.
The start and race zone are located on Playa del Mar Mediterráneo, adjacent to the Municipal Sports Center of La Manga del Mar Menor on Gran Vía. The race also serves as the third stage of the FNRM Regional Open Water League, offering club swimmers a competitive objective beyond a single open-water event. Clubs may register an unlimited number of swimmers, though participants must be federated on race day for their times to be considered for league standings. It is a recognized event on Murcia’s regional open-water schedule.
