San Silvestre A Coruña is a New Year’s Eve city race of about 7 kilometers in A Coruña, on Spain’s Galician coast. It is built more around finishing the year together than chasing fast times: people run, walk, Nordic walk, bring pets, join with workmates, and take part from very young ages. Local runners share the streets with visitors from outside Spain, and the field keeps getting bigger.
The route uses the city itself as the main attraction, with coastal views, urban beaches, the glass-fronted galleries of La Marina, the Obelisco, and the long Paseo Marítimo. It also passes some of A Coruña’s most historic places, including the Tower of Hercules, the Castle of San Antón, the port, the Old Town, and Plaza de María Pita in front of City Hall. The result is a relaxed, family-friendly year-end run where the landmarks matter as much as the clock.
