San Silvestre Dúrcal is a short urban road race held in Dúrcal in late December, starting and finishing in Plaza de España. The main race is 3,700 meters, making it more of a quick town-center run than a long-distance event. The Dúrcal City Council organizes it, limiting entries to 1,500 runners for logistical reasons.
The event, now in its fourth edition, includes more than just the adult race. School races are held for age groups from pre-benjamín through cadet, with distances ranging from 400 to 1,200 meters. The race also raises funds for the Spanish Association Against Cancer, awards trophies to top finishers, provides a race bag for every entrant, and has the sole aid station located in the post-finish area.
