In Huesa, runners begin and end at Plaza de la Iglesia, contributing one kilogram of non-perishable food with their registration. The San Silvestre Solidaria de Huesa is an evening charity road race held around Christmas, organized by the Huesa City Council. The collected food is donated to a social organization, such as the Food Bank Foundation.
The primary course covers approximately 5 to 5.5 kilometers through the town’s streets, which are adorned with Christmas decorations. Under-15 participants follow a shorter 2-kilometer route. Children aged four and up are welcome, and the event features categories for children, adults, and individuals with disabilities, for both male and female runners. The race also serves to inaugurate Huesa’s patron saint festivities. Trophies are awarded to the top three finishers in each category, and participants receive runner bags containing a chip-timed bib, a commemorative technical shirt, and sponsor gifts.
