San Silvestre Villa de La Calzada is a New Year’s Eve urban run in La Calzada, following a 6 km format: three laps of 2 km through town. Adults pay a small entry fee, children run free, and registration is handled online through evedeport.com or in person at the La Calzada town hall.
The race maintains a local, end-of-year party atmosphere while retaining its competitive aspect. Overall male and female winners receive cash prizes and handmade ceramic medals, with additional cash awards for local runners. The largest running group wins a ham, and the largest costumed group (requiring at least wigs) wins a pork loin. All participants receive a race T-shirt, and groups qualify for their prizes by completing at least one lap.
