Subida al Cerro de la Degollá is a 14 km trail race in Priego, Cuenca province, Spain, featuring 1,000 meters of climbing on a short mountain course. It typically takes place in autumn and concludes the Diputación de Cuenca Mountain Running Circuit. While the distance is modest, the climb, rough terrain, and requirement for consistent technical running make it a challenging event, not a simple off-road run.
The course ascends through the Priego gorge, passing autumn foliage and the red hues of local osier. Aid stations are located around kilometers 4, 7, and 11, offering solid food at the halfway point before a final climb, with additional support at the finish. The event also includes a hike on the same route the day prior to the race, with over a hundred participants in at least one past edition. The race has been held at least twelve times, and the course record has been closely contested by fast runners.
