The Travesía a Nado del Puerto de Motril is an approximately 1,600-meter open-water swim held in the waters near the Real Club Náutico de Motril, located on Spain’s Granada coast. The event takes place during Motril’s traditional August festivals, featuring morning starts for various age groups. It attracts swimmers of all ages, not solely specialist competitors. The Real Club Náutico de Motril’s swimming section organizes the race, supported by the Motril City Council sports department and the Port of Motril. Its notable history makes it Spain’s second-oldest swim of its kind, following Barcelona and sharing historical significance with the Club Deportivo de Bilbao swim.
