The Travesía a Nado Majorals Sant Roc 5000m is an open-water swim taking place off Escollera Nord beach in Dénia, on Spain’s Mediterranean coast. The race is part of the Majorals de Sant Roc Dénia swim meeting, which also features a 1,500-meter distance that begins before the longer event. Approximately three hundred swimmers assemble from early morning, with many spectators observing from the shore.
The Majorals de Sant Roc organize the event, managing a substantial on-land setup and the necessary safety provisions for the sea swim. David Alcolado was the winner of the 5,000-meter race, and Jerónimo Talavera of C.N. San Vicente won the 1,500 meters in 20:25, ahead of Marcos Rivas of G.S.D. The event combines the feel of a local festival swim with a competition, as club swimmers, longer-distance specialists, and supporters gather on the same beach.
