Travessia d'hivern al Port de Gandia is a short winter open-water swim in Gandia, held in the port area over 300 meters. Swimmers start from the docks in front of Varadero Beach and finish on the beach itself, making the race a cold-water dash rather than a long-distance crossing. Natació i Esports Gandia organizes it, and the event also carries the Memorial Juan Gerardo Koninckx name.
The rules add character: neoprene suits are banned, making the winter water part of the challenge. Prizes go to the top three overall finishers, plus the youngest and oldest participants. There is a Roscón de Reyes cake for the best individual costume and best group costume. Changing rooms are provided, and swimmers receive hot chocolate after finishing.
