UltraTrail Serra de Montsant is a trail-running series held in Ulldemolins, Spain, within the Priorat region of Catalonia. Taking place in October, it offers runners a broad range of distances, from the 7 km Start Trail to mountain ultras of 63 km and 88 km. The intermediate distances are substantial: the 44 km marathon ascends 2,343 meters, the 25 km race climbs 1,263 meters, and the 11 km route includes 621 meters of elevation gain.
Naturetime Events established the race in 2009 to guide runners through Serra de Montsant Natural Park, part of the Catalan pre-coastal mountains. The courses traverse a rugged limestone terrain of cliffs, ravines, and gorges, with vineyards and ancient Romanesque hermitages illustrating the area's long human history. Santa Magdalena, Sant Bartolomeu, and the Margalef reservoir are featured locations along the routes, giving the race the character of a journey through Priorat’s mountain heritage rather than a confined sporting event.
