Urkabeko Igoera is a 1.6 km mountain trail race in Oiartzun, Gipuzkoa, with listings placing it in autumn. It is the Urkabe climb in plain terms: short enough to sound harmless, but local reports describe it as very tough. The race is also referred to as the Urkabeko cross or Urkabeko Zintzarria, and it has been organized by Intxixu Trail Girizia and the Girizia mountain running club.
The route heads into the hills above Oiartzun, so the challenge is the climb rather than the distance. Past editions have been small, with reports of 27 runners taking part and 33 runners finishing, which makes it feel like a local mountain-running test rather than a crowded mass race. It has reached at least five editions, previously paused for two years, and then returned to Oiartzun with registration handled through the Herri Krosa website.
