The Milla Nàutica Solidària Bombers de Barcelona is a charity open-water swim in Barcelona, held at Platja del Bogatell in late June. It is organized by the swimming section of the Associació Cultural i Esportiva del Cos de Bombers de Barcelona, the cultural and sports association of the city’s fire brigade. The event is non-competitive; the aim is to complete the sea crossing, not to race for placings. Swimmers can choose from four official distances: half a nautical mile, one nautical mile, two nautical miles, or three nautical miles, ranging from 926 meters to 5,556 meters.
The start and finish are both at Bogatell Beach, one of Barcelona’s main city beaches. The day centers on a straightforward out-and-back course with an event village by the water. Entries are limited to 800 participants, and the swim is entirely charitable, with the full registration fee supporting a solidarity cause. The facilities include a cloakroom, showers, massage, one liquid aid station, one solid aid station, food at the finish, and a prize raffle, contributing to a community feel rather than a purely timed event.
