Aluekisat 2026

The Aluekisat features the LUM 120v Juhlakilpailu, a track and field meeting held at Kimpinen in Lappeenranta, Finland. Competition begins in the afternoon, organized by Lappeenrannan Urheilu-Miehet. This event functions as a youth athletics meet, with participants entering individual events for a fee, rather than a single road race. The schedule includes sprints, hurdles, middle-distance races, jumps, pole vault, javelin, discus, long jump, and triple jump for age groups from under-11 to under-19. The youngest competitors run the 800m and 60m hurdles. Older athletes compete in events such as the 100m, 300m, 2000m, 110m hurdles, pole vault, and javelin. The Kimpinen track and field facilities have undergone renovation, and sprint races are arranged to utilize tailwinds when conditions permit.
