Metsä Group Seurakisat 2026

Metsä Group Seurakisat is a free, low-barrier children’s athletics series in Huittinen. Events take place in spring and early summer at locations including Huittisten Ratsastuskeskus, Kännölä, and the Huittinen sports field. Families can arrive at the venue before the start and register on site. Children do not need a club sports school place or a competition license. The concept is straightforward: children try running, jumping, throwing, and cross-country in an environment that resembles practice more than a formal competition. The youngest age groups run short distances like 40m, 60m, 300m, and 400m. Older children participate in longer runs up to 1400m and events such as long jump and javelin. Each meeting starts with a shared, playful warm-up for children and youth. Every participant receives a Seurakisakortti, or Club Games Card, and a sticker from each event, allowing families to track the summer’s results at home. Individual meetings do not have typical race prizes; results accumulate points, and all who participated are recognized later at the Kunniakierros, the Lap of Honour event.
