The 10 km de la Chaume is a road race held in La Chaume, the historic harbor district of Les Sables-d'Olonne on France's Atlantic coast. It takes place on the third Saturday of April, organized by the Jogging Club Sablais. The primary event is a two-loop 10 km course for participants over 18, alongside a 5 km option available to all. Approximately one thousand runners participate across the events, positioning it within the local mass-participation race scene rather than an elite-focused competition.
Both races commence at Place Maraud. The 10 km course winds along the channel, crosses the marina, and utilizes the coastal road, passing through named sections such as Quai de la Chaume, Route Bleue, Corniche du Nouch, and Port Olonna. This route offers participants a condensed circuit of the working waterfront, the port facilities, and the seaside before the evening's trophy ceremony. Club runners, recreational runners, families, and friends are all accommodated by the event's structure, particularly with the introduction of the shorter 5 km course which provides a more accessible option for less experienced runners.
