The 10 Kms Des Ecluses - Saint-Lo is a 10 km point-to-point race held on a spring Sunday morning, running from La Mancellière-sur-Vire to Saint-Lô in Normandy. The start is at the lock on the towpath in La Mancellière-sur-Vire, and the finish is on the track at Stade Jean Berthélem in Saint-Lô. This main race holds a regional FFA label, allowing qualification for the French championships. A 10 km Nordic walk, starting three minutes after the runners, is also part of the event. Stade Saint Lois Athlétisme organizes this, their ninth edition.
The course is flat, suitable for runners aiming for a fast 10 km time. It combines asphalt sections with a sunken path before the stadium finish. A water stop is located just before the halfway point, with a more comprehensive aid station at the end. As the course is one-way and parking in La Mancellière is limited to allow bus access, most participants park in Saint-Lô and take the complimentary shuttle to the start. Demand for the race is high enough that it can fill before the weekend, meaning late entries are not assured. Post-race, the athletics stadium functions as the meeting point, offering a refreshment stand with hot or cold sandwiches.
