100 Miles Sud de France is an ultra-trail race held in the Pyrénées-Orientales, the Catalan region of southern France, adjacent to the Spanish border. Taking place in October, it guides runners from the mountains to the Mediterranean Sea, offering three distance options: 80 km, 120 km, and the full 100 miles, typically noted as approximately 170 km.
The point-to-point route commences in Font-Romeu and concludes by the sea in Argelès-sur-Mer. The longest event presents a significant mountain-to-coast challenge, featuring around 7,650 meters of elevation gain on the 177 km course, distinguishing it from a simple long-distance road race on trails. The event is also known by its former name, 100 Miles Pyrénées Méditerranée, which clearly indicates the runner's journey: the Pyrenees mountains initially, reaching the Mediterranean coast at the finish.
