Backyard Savignoise - Savigny 2026

Backyard Savignoise is a backyard ultra held in Savigny, in the Rhône department near Lyon, on an October weekend. The race consists of a 6.7 km road loop with 185 meters of elevation gain. The primary format involves runners starting a loop every hour for a maximum of 24 loops. A shorter, 3-loop version is also available, offering participants a brief introduction to the format. The rule is straightforward: complete the loop before the next hourly start, or the race concludes for that runner. The event continues as long as participants can begin another loop, with the winner being the last individual capable of starting a new loop. This format originates from Lazarus Lake’s Backyard Ultra concept, related to Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra. The Savignoise edition is presented as the sole backyard race in the Lyon area.
