Bouge tes miches contre le myélome is a 10 km charity event in Fitilieu, offering both a road race and a 10 km hike along a marked route. It takes place in April, beginning in the morning, and welcomes runners and walkers, not just seasoned athletes. The course is accessible, though not entirely flat, featuring approximately 170 meters of elevation gain. Both the race and hike include a refreshment stop at the midpoint.
The entire event benefits myeloma research, with all profits directed to the cause. Two sisters established it after their father, Patrice Blanc, was diagnosed with myeloma, and the race and hike are held in his honor. The name is personal: their father was a village baker for 35 years, so “Bouge tes miches” serves as both a playful encouragement to move and a reference to his profession. On the day, a refreshment stand and a solidarity lasagna sale are also available, reinforcing the connection to the family's story.
