Clermont en Rose is a family walk and run in Clermont-Ferrand, held in October to raise money for local breast cancer charities. The event is run by a charitable non-profit, and registration fees and donations go to local associations linked to breast cancer. It is large for a community charity event: participation is capped at 10,000, and the organizer reports more than 62,000 participants and more than EUR848,000 donated since 2018.
The race side includes timed results for solo women and duo entries, but the day is clearly built for more than fast runners. Companies, schools, large teams, walkers, families, and charity supporters all appear in the event results and challenges, including an enterprise trophy, a school trophy, and awards for big teams. The weekend also has its own rituals: participants get an exclusive shirt designed by Marie Buisson, a charity tombola raises extra money, and the organizers publish photo galleries and a recap video after the event.
