The Corrida de Buxy is a 10 km night road race held in Buxy, a small fortified village in Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy-Franche-Comté. As a winter corrida, it takes place in mid-January, following the traditional Epiphany cake weekend. Runners should anticipate cold weather, with typical temperatures around 3 degrees Celsius. The event also features races for children and juniors, in addition to the main adult 10K.
The course winds through Buxy's old town, tracing the outline of the village ramparts. Participants will run past monuments linked to the area's extensive history, with medieval streets and vineyard landscapes forming the race's backdrop. Three local associations collaborate to organize the event: Courir en Moroges, L’Amicale Cycle de Buxy, and Les Pies Jacasses. The organizers embrace the corrida theme, encouraging participants with the phrase, “Be the Matador who will tame the race!”
