Corrida de Château-Gontier

Corrida de Château-Gontier is an annual running race in Château-Gontier, held between the winter holidays. The main event is a 10 km race, with a duo option available, and the field is large for a local town race: around 1,900 runners participate in the 10 km and about 300 more enter the duo race. The route sends runners through the streets of Château-Gontier, with the race run in daylight again after several editions held at night. Upac, the Union pour l’athlétisme à Château-Gontier, organizes the event, and its long history now stretches past three dozen editions. One local touch is the planned plaque honoring Brigitte and Serge Heuveline, which points to the race’s roots in the town’s athletics community.
