The Corrida de Fère-Champenoise is a long-running road race held in Fère-Champenoise, located in France’s Marne region. Locals refer to it as the “Potato Race,” and the event attracts several hundred participants, not just a small local group.
The most distinct tradition occurs at the conclusion of the 12 km race: finishers are given a net of potatoes, in addition to another finisher reward. The race also awards numerous prizes through a bib number draw, contributing to the day's atmosphere as a community gathering rather than a simple race-and-depart event.
