The Cottenchy Trail Aventure starts in the village of Cottenchy in the Somme, part of France’s Hauts-de-France region, typically held in early March. This trail-running event uses forest and nature paths, offering multiple race distances: routes of approximately 10-11 km, 13.2 km, 17.2 km, and a longer Trail Aventure covering about 29 km.
The long course presents a challenge with around 530 to 550 meters of elevation gain. The event also includes a Nordic walking option for those who prefer the trails without the competitive running format. The race welcomes both novice and experienced trail runners, but the potentially muddy woods and its status as a French championship qualifier indicate it is more than a simple village run.
