Course autour du Lac de Carcès is a local running event in Carcès, a village in the Var department of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur in southern France. Runners start from Place de la Mairie and choose between two lake-area races: a 7.5 km trail and a 16.5 km route. The event typically takes place in early spring and includes children’s races, with 0.5 km and 1.7 km options for younger participants.
The longer race is approximately half road and half trail, and organizers describe it as a fast course, not a technical mountain run. The program also features a gourmet walk, making the day suitable for more than just competitive runners. The race is located in the Provence Verte & Verdon area, about 45 minutes from Aix-en-Provence and an hour from Marseille or Hyères. Having reached its 30th anniversary, the event carries the local nickname, “Carcès, ça te casse!”, which humorously suggests that Carcès will wear you out.
