Course des 2 Plages is a spring seaside running event linking Brétignolles-sur-Mer and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie on France’s Vendée coast. It gives runners two choices: a short 4.7 km race called the Course de la Corniche, or a 12.5 km nature race for anyone who wants a longer outing between beach, forest, and coastal paths. The event’s own slogan is “2 are better than one!”, which fits both the two-race format and the two-beach idea behind the name.
The 12.5 km race starts on the Remblai de la Grande Plage in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and finishes at Plage de la Normandelière in Brétignolles-sur-Mer, so runners need to plan around different start and finish points. A paid shuttle runs from the finish area back toward the start, but it must be reserved during registration, and there is no shuttle for the 4.7 km race. The course uses sand, forest, and seaside terrain rather than a pure road route, and non-licensed runners need a valid FFA Pass Prévention Santé to confirm their entry. The race has already reached at least a thirteenth edition, with bib pickup usually arranged through local shops and on-site collection before the start.
