Course des flambeaux is a night urban trail run held in Montfort-l'Amaury, a town within the Yvelines department of Île-de-France, located west of Paris. It takes place in early November and features two single-loop courses: 10 km and 18 km. Both routes have significant elevation for their distances, with approximately 300 m of climbing on the 10 km course and 450 m on the 18 km course.
The 18 km race is the preferred choice, though both distances attracted over 400 participants in the last edition. The event's structure is simple: a winter town trail run with sufficient hills to provide a challenge beyond a flat city race, and distances suitable for local trail runners, club members, and those transitioning from road racing.
