Course des lampions - Savigny-le-Sec 2026

The Course des Lampions is an 8 km road race held in Savigny-le-Sec, a village within the Côte-d'Or department in eastern France. Participants begin at 8:00 p.m. in mid-December, a few days before Christmas, contributing to the race's nighttime, lantern-themed character. It is a shorter road race, similar to the 10 km category, suitable for both novice and seasoned participants. The course follows the streets of Savigny-le-Sec, distinct from trail running, and is organized by the Savigny trail club with volunteer support. The race resumed after a nine-year hiatus, with its appeal stemming from the revival of a local village event rather than a large urban competition. Approximately 250 runners have participated in recent editions, establishing it as a community event offering a good atmosphere without being overly crowded.
